Bay Star Power Seat Dead

The wire from the seat motor to the screw mechanism on one side frayed and came apart. Only one side works and once the seat twists the entire seat binds.

2018 Bay Star 3406

Does anyone know if it’s possible to disconnect and manually advance the seat forward. As of now the slide can’t come in because of the seat.

Thanks!

Bill

Get a set of alligator clips and make a temp connection. Or splice the wires with wire to reconnect electric.

Looking at it further it’s not a power wire. It almost looks like bicycle brake cable type of wire. Not sure what happened because it doesn’t look like a place where it could pinch in the mechanism. It comes right off the forward / reverse motor to the gears.

I tried to look at mine, but I couldn’t see anything that looked like a wire in that location. I’m not flexible enough to get a good view. Could that wire be what’s left of a drive shaft that failed?

I found this link that may have some useful photos:

A few calls to Newmar and Flexsteel might get you an answer.

Thank you. That looks a bit different than my seat base. I’m going to call Newmar tomorrow and talk about options.

You have a wire connector coming up from floor and plugs into wire connector from motor to move seat.
What has happened maybe one of the wires in a connector has come loose from plug.
You may have some slack in cable through floor to help give you enough wire to stop from happening again once you reconnect wire for motor.
You say seat is binding which is why that cable is frayed the seat is only to be turned 1/2 the way around before everything will pull apart going beyond 1/2 way.
The frayed cable is probably the release cable for turning the seat
Newmar search --- seat motor for seat does not run.
