Bay Star - Rear camera not so good?
Wondering if there is something missing.
I am very unhappy with the rear camera on my 2018 Bay Star. I am using my previous 2016 Forest River Georgetown as comparison. In my old Forest River, the rear camera could see all of my tow vehicle, and well into the next lane on either side. When backing into a spot, I could pretty much see the whole pad and area next to it and was very comfortable backing into spots without any guidance.
On my Newmar I barely see the top of the toad driver windshield. I do not see into the other lanes at all. At the RV pad I see just the cement about 5 feet past my rear bumper. There is no way I can back into a spot without having my wife get out and yell at me if there is anything in the way.
It is so bad I just can't believe that Newmar would put something so inferior in quality in a coach that cost 50K more than my Forest River that I have to believe I am missing something (a setting, adjusting the camera) or that there must be an issue with it.

have you tried adjusting the camera up?
I'm sure the manufacturer more or less just tosses on whatever camera is the flavor of the month with not much consideration for it's usefulness.
I would guess though that you could change that camera for another. The wires would be similar from one camera to the next.

I'm not sure it is, but even if it is, then I can make it see the top and rear of my tow vehicle, but not the front or the tow bar (also important to see)

Bay Star - Rear camera not so good?
This is what I did in my Bay Star:
The upper display is a wireless camera on a Garmin GPS and the factory camera is aimed higher.

Try to adjust the camera. The one on my BSS sees the car, can see the hitch, and I can see when I have passed a car to know when it’s safe to pull over. I need to try to adjust the brightness or contrast as it washes out sometimes in bright light.

Our Baystar had a narrow angle camera like you describe. The Ventana has a wider angle lens and shows the road behind to the horizon. Might check to see if the camera maker has alternative cameras with different fields of view and just swap the lens perhaps.

That's strange. The camera on my BSS shows quite a bit. I did point it up as far as it would go so I can see further behind me.

Just look at the Voyager Display system and there is a menu option for scale. I am not at my Bay Star so I can't verify if this works.
