I had a Fleetwood Terra Class A gasser that came with the black vinyl bra.....Fleetwood added then to a lot of their RV's. I found it to be as big of a pain, or even more of a pain then the clear bra. If you want it to look nice, you have to clean it just as often. It needs to come off in inclement weather and will chafe your paint, no matter how well it's installed. Dirt and dust gets behind it and if it gets wet, you have to pull it off and scrub it.
If you think about it, you rarely see them anymore, for the above reasons. I would either replace the clear bra or just remove the clear bra and run nothing on the front.
The clear bra can last and look nice for many years if well taken care of. The 3M bra on my 2005 Monaco Diplomat, that I bought new, still looked good when I sold it 10 years later. It's just like the coach paint, you have to clean and wax it.
