Best Insurance Carrier

Purchased 2013 DS 4018 and we currently have Allstate insurance. Any ideas of a better carrier.

We have National General. They were the cheapest 2 years in a row.

If you have FMCA, they will do the price checking for you and probably get you a little better rate than you could on your own.

We have GEICO, and so far are well satisfied with them. On a recent incident with road debris causing damage to the DEF hoses, cooling hoses and some other minor damage, they covered towing, and all the cost for the repair damage. Although my policy has a 500 dollar deductible, I ended up not paying anything. The policy also has road side assistance as part of the policy.

If your a FMCA member, ask for a quote. I had Safeco and FMCA wrote the exact coverage for $1,900 dollars less with Progressive.
My local Progressive agent where I have the cars and house, stated couldnít write it due to the coach being over $500,000.
FMCA has special riders with a number of major carriers.

You can call Good Sam and theyíll broker coverage for you. They connected us with National General for a fine rate. Two years later it went up by over 30%. Called them again and they connected us up with Progressive at a rate lower than the previous best. Also note that itís very specialized RV coverage that is different and better than ordinary car coverage.

We have been using Ron Jarvie with Overland Insurance Service for many years and have not been disappointed. Last year when I renewed he had researched my options and made a recommendation to save money within a day of me getting my advanced renewal notice. They sure know the RV business. Give him a try.

Have used Progressive for years and have had excellent claims service from them, but, there are several great insurance carriers in this market.

I agree Overland is very good....I would add to the recommendations FCIS Insurance Co., Josh Pagel...they also specialize in RVs and are super 800-331-1520....you won't be disappointed with either.
I have found both of the above to be superior to FMCA's Insurance program.

What is it about Allstate that you find substandard, and want to improve on.....??

FWIW...

When I bought my Class A two years ago, I contacted all the usual RV insurance suspects. In my area, for comparable coverage, they all gave one of two prices...

Two were in the $2200/year category and the others all hovered around $1800/year.

On a whim, I contacted my Allstate Agent. She handles our home insurance, and she had recently beat AAA's price to insure my 3 Harleys by 35%.... I had shopped the price from AAA several times, and prior to contacting her, no one ever came close to beating the AAA price..

She got me the same coverage as all the others for $1400/year. Plus, she was able to add the motorhome to our umbrella policy....

Alas, she IS human. She couldn't beat Wawanesa's price on our cars....

Their prices donít matter if they wonít pay their claims. Google top ten worst insurance companies. Allstate is at the top of the list. Just an fyi. Good luck.

Our boat, coach, rzr, and golf cart are insured through Progressive. Had a substantial claim on the boat last year and Iím very satisfied with how they handled it.
