Best Route from SoCal/LA area to Nappanee

As the title suggests, I'd like advice from those who've taken the trip from Los Angeles to the Newmar in Nappanee.

No matter which navigation device or software I use, it seems to pick the US I-70 route going from St. George through Denver. I've been through that section coming west from Colorado, and it's no party. Steep grades that go on forever, and tight-windy canyons.

Seems to me, the better/flatter route would be the southern route through Albuquerque, Amarillo, etc. thus avoiding the Rockies.

Thanks in advance.

I would take 40 east to 44 to 70 to Indy. 31 north is a 4 lane and a pretty drive.
At St. Louis go south on 70 to get to 255 back to 70 east. Lot less traffic but rough.
Indy can be heavy traffic but if you time it you’ll be ok.
This route has the least elevation changes.

Good luck

I like it! Thanks, that’s exactly what I wanted to hear.

You didn't say when you were going. Stay north when the weather is warm/hot (I-70) and if you go during a colder time of the year, I-40.

Forgot to add. Fuel is generally cheaper at the Indian Casios before Albuquerque and again north of Oklahoma City on the toll road. The toll road is worth the toll the fuel savings pays almost 1/2 the toll and the shortest way.

May I ask why you are headed to the factory that local service could not fix or modify?

I've used that Indian Casino west of Albuquerque a few times. Always good prices and decent access. It's in a big valley you drop down into.
