Black tank issues-what is this wire?

My black tank has been giving erratic readings the past few weeks.

Generally it is showing yellow then red when the tank is no where near full. A full flush generally clears it-until next time.

Pulled the pegboard and found a loose wire coming out of the tank at the PVC cap (back portion in the pic). There are two white wires. One goes to ground and the other is lying loose.

See pic.

I wrote to Newmar CS and they replied but am now more confused than ever.

I asked about the wire and additionally is there any way to temporarily bypass the system (red light/full) in order to flush.

I'll summarize their answer: "Cut the yellow wire to a module. This wire may be very hard to find. Call Dometic Sanitation 1-800-...."

No answer to the loose white wire or the general problem. Or what to do after the yellow wire is cut.

Well I found this yellow wire to a module behind the pegboard. I don't intend on cutting it as I am not that desperate. See pic. Is this what she is talking about?

To top it off Newgle says my tank was made by Ameri-Kart and their pics match mine and do not match the Dometic pics.

Any ideas which way to go here?

I would not go anywhere with it until you open that box and see if wires connected.
The wiring in picture looks like #14 for 110 volts.
Open cover and check wiring, if you disconnect the black wires you may lose use of a appliance some where above.

Your first picture has a yellow wire top left corner
This would be what they are referencing
Your second picture is electric, ac 110v like 007 said...dont cut that!

I would be leery of cutting anything until you get a 2nd confirmation

Not much help, but keep looking around to where that white wire came unplugged from. If it’s a new problem it’s probably that wire.
