Block heater on Silverleaf screen?
I have a button for the block heater on the bedroom Silverleaf screen, but not on the front screen over the dash? Can anyone tell me why the front screen does not show it? and how to get it on the screen?
Second, the block heater outlet is hot all the time, pressing the button on the bedroom display changes color, but does not switch the outlet on/off. Is there a relay somewhere? If so can anyone point me towards its location? I am thinking a relay must be stuck closed........
Thank you in advance for your help!

I no longer have my 2016 KA and Silverleaf changed software for 2020. I would first pull the front screen and unplug it and wait a minute and plug it back in to reboot it. Best I can remember you will need to get into the settings using the 42 code. You will need to tell it that there is a block heater. If all else fails call Art or another tech at Silverleaf.

Check you Silverleaf configuration and make sure the block heater configuration is properly setup. From the Silverleaf main screen, select Features and then Monitor Configuration. From there go to page 8 (May be different on yours) and look for the Block Heater Instance. Mine is set to 1. Check the bedroom screen first to get the correct instance number and then set the front Silverleaf screen accordingly.

Well, we are moving forward, Thank you both.........Flyboy the front screen block heater was set to "0"......set it to "1" and did a reset on the "HMS" screen, the block heater came up.
But, there is still 120v at the outlet........I have never pressed "reset to factory defaults" as I was not sure what it will do...........
Seems to me that there is a relay that the Silverleaf sends a 12vdc signal to and when it gets the signal it closes sending 120vac to the outlet?
Thank you both for your posts and help so far..............
Should I do a factory reset??????

I don’t believe there is 12v power at the block heater outlet, thus the relay wouldn’t be located at the outlet. Although I haven’t yet pulled the outlet out of the box to verify. I’m wondering where the relay for the outlet is located. I haven’t yet searched for it, so I’m just not sure.
I would not recommend resetting the Silverleaf to the defaults. My guess it only resets the display unit to the default setting, but unless you know the proper setting it would be a pain to reconfigure. There is a Newmar school house document online that contains the settings, but I’m not sure if it’s 100% accurate.
I would actually recommend going through all the screens and documenting the current configuration.
When you turn the block heater on/off from one display panel, does the other one also update? Just trying to make sure they’re in sync. I suppose it’s possible the instance number could be something other than 1. Perhaps try 2 or 3 and see if it will turn the outlet off/on. Other than that, I’d recommend tracing the power in order to locate the relay and troubleshoot from there.

Thank you for new suggestions, I did not mean there is 12vdc at the outlet, the Silverleaf screen must send a 12vdc signal to a relay ......and when that relay is energized the 120vac powers the outlet. I will do as you suggest and change the numbers and test it out.
Yes , the block heater button turns green on both screens when operating from the front or bedroom. Wondering if Newmar would be of any help? I am thinking this is outside of Silverleafs scope........
Edit, just reread your post, understand you were trying to run down the relay after reading. Thank you for your time so far!

Found this on Newmars Silverleaf training manual this morning;
toggles the Block Heater relay on/off. The
button indicator is highlighted yellow when
the load is being shed and blue when on
Now to hunt down the relay............

Well, after that was corrected now the front AC unit(Living room) says "Shed" on the screen, Oasis heat for living room under dash fan does not come on when temp setting is raised? I have unplugged, shut 12 disconnects off, and shut down the house disconnect, rebooted everything and the living room still says "Shed" on the screen. No amp draw on L1 & L2 so no need to shed..........Any idea's on what I can do? I even tried to change the block heater back to its original setting as this shed thing just came up this morning after getting the block heater outlet to switch on/off properly.

I find it interesting that the block heater buttons work on instance #3. The standard configuration is 1. I’m going to guess that this change is for some reason causing the “shed” problem. Perhaps set the configuration back to 1, and reboot the TM-250 to see if that clears up the problems.

None of my business but... Once you go past the "Password Protected" screen on the Silverleaf System you're playing with fire! Speaking from a Life Time of advanced aircraft design one of the greatest challenges was "protecting the aircrew" from doing something STUPID... Like taking the aircraft "out of configuration"! What is "out of configuration"? Out of configuration events occur when an operator gains access to "advanced settings" and enters an invalid "value" or executes a "Reserved" command within the systems software/firmware! Now "that" value or command maybe totally inconsequential OR it may scramble one of the system "Nodes" by providing an "unexpected value" or event! The Block Heater should be set to "1" not 3 per the Silverleaf manual... Set other values at your own peril...
One dark night on a Weapon System that shall remain "anonymous", the crew was bored on the flight home... As they paged down into the Avionics menus they found a firmware switch on a sub-sub menu that said "Reset FMS" (Flight Management System)… They wondered... So they did... And then they flew for the next 45 minutes, at night, on emergency flight instruments while the aircrafts entire display system rebooted itself... As I said, "at your own peril..."

Mark at Silverleaf said changing the Instance would do nothing to damage anything, he was not sure why it worked when set to 3. And having the Shed come up for the front AC unit from the 250 controller was just a coincidence........
A new 250 controller is on its way.
