Bose Sound Bar

I know there are many threads about the exterior sound bar, poor quality and mounting options. Mine has stopped working both sources, TV and radio. Where does the connection originate? I am trying to figure out why it stopped working.

I also found that when turning on/off the televator tv I am turning on/off the exterior TV because of close proximity. It is often on when I donít want it on, like driving. Now I check.

The close proximity issue requires a Sony update that can be done while hooked up to the internet. Do all tvís.
Do you have a Bose selector switch on the wall of the exterior tv compartment? If so that is where all connections, Dash Radio and External TV are, there is a input from the dash radio to the switch an one connection from the external tv to the switch and one out from the switch to the sound bar. Do you really need a sound bar? Just make sure the sound stays in your camp spot unless you are far from neighbors. Kind of like running the generator close to neighbors!

Thanks on the update havenít done one in about a year.

I do have the switch in exterior compartment. Not sure when it stopped working, I was recently under the sink doing some work and found the sub-woofer. Notice the cable that plugs in there was kinked due to back panel of drawer closeout. Might have to go back there as starting point, donít know if common point for radio and TV since neithersound are working.

Yes. It helps to actually hear the TV. The internal sound is terrible
And remember, sound bars have volume control. Common sense should always prevail. Stuart

Bill, I believe your sound bar is also Bluetooth capable. To ensure that the problem is not the sound bar, try connecting your phone via Bluetooth and play some music. That will at least eliminate one possibly.

When you were under the sink working could you have accidentally hit one of the HDMI splitters and disconnected something? Might be an easy place to start.

If the tv works, and not the sound bar, it wonít be HDMI, the sound is connected to the sound bar via RCA/3.5mm connections, very our school

I will try Bluetooth to be sure itís not the speaker. With the fact it doesnít work for radio or tv a little suspicious. I donít know if subwoofer is a common connection between the two.

Checked and works on Bluetooth so not the speaker. I will have to find source of RCA plugs and check switch in exterior compartment.

As a bypass for now you could always get an optical cable and hook directly from tv to sound bar. That doesnít help with regular audio from inside coach but I stopped using that almost immediately because of the poor sound quality. Much better using Bluetooth from your phone if you want outside music.

We're on a shake down weekend where we can try everything while fully hooked up. I tried the outside sound bar with the dash radio. I faded the radio all the way to he rear and could still barely hear the outside radio via sound bar. Is this the best I'll get or is something else I need to do/switch. I thought I read somewhere that it may need an amp.

Fading to the rear would put more volume to the bedroom speakers, you should be able to have the radio set to normal front listening and switch the Bose selector switch to radio, you need to raise the inside volume to a moderate level as that is the input level to the sound bar, then adjust the sound bar volume withe the sound bar remote.

Don if you only want to play outside fade to rear as you did. Turn volume up mid range on the radio. Turn off the bedroom speakers. Use the bose controller to control volume at the sound bar. If you want to listen inside and out fade the radio back toward front until you have the volume you want in front and turn on the bedroom speakers. This should get you started then play with it to your liking
