BRA.....Diamond Shield Protection

Our '04 Mountain Aire still has the Diamond Shield on it. Overall, it's in darn good shape. It does have some minor scratches, vertically in the middle of the front, which won't come out, & some "browning" along some of the edges. Other than that, still shiny & smooth. Could the scratches be from the BRA?

As it does have a BRA stored in the forward bay. I've not taken it out yet and checked it over. I read somewhere that the BRA causes moisture damage.....is that correct? Unless left on for long periods of time, should there be no moisture issues?

And lastly, since the BRA is in it, if in good shape, would it not make sense to use it, especially if going South in the spring?

Thanks for your advice & input.....

I'm learning about this "RVing" every day

If you have Diamond Shield you don't need the BRA. They can collect abrasive grit.

From my experience with the two Dutch Stars I've owned, the cracking that you see is the Diamond Shield itself. the browning is mold build up behind the Diamond Shield. I live in the South, so temp here in the south during the summer months probably don't help with stress cracking. Mine is severe. I just purchased all the tools to remove it. Project for the upcoming spring.
