Bracket on top of the entry door

The bracket on top of the entry door is not latching to keep the door open. A metal "C" that fits in a cavity broke and Newmar sells only the bracket, part number 09402.

Does somebody have a solution? I wrapped a plastic tie wrap around the the post. I use a tie wrap that will let close the door.

I have seen this failure on DS, MA andEssex.

I did that same thing. PTL Engineering. They were great to work with and the new arm was a perfect fit. Problem solved.

I went to the local hardware store and got a nylon washer of the appropriate diameter and thickness. I cut it so I could pry it open and slip it onto the bracket. Been on there a couple years so far .

As said above, the correct arm assembly is made by PTL Engineering for about $90.00. 810-664-2310, ask for Jason.

Will probably buy a new bracket when I get tired of replacing tie wrap.

Bracket price has increased about 50% over price mentioned but still much less expensive than Newmar parts.

I like the nylon washer concept but living full time has limitations.

Just called them and having the replacement bracket sent, after having the door ripped out of my hand last night in massive wind storm, and popping the top rivet out.
