Brand of Microwave

Can someone tell me if Newmar is still using the Whirlpool microwave in the 2017 MA and LA. Have a 2016 MA and have had trouble with the Whirlpool and wonder if Newmar has made the change to the GE Advantium in the 2017's?

Door hinge problem and door switch problems. Contemplating changing it out.

The Advantium is expensive, we ordered it in our '02 DSDP and I think it was about a $700 upcharge. Late DW insisted on the Advantium after seeing a demo at an FMCA rally.
There are a couple disadvantages though:
1. Can't turn off the turntable to use oblong pans.
2. Won't do two tier cooking like some will.
3. Need practice to get the speedcook settings right.

The Advantium we had in our '14 DS had a wire shelf that could be place at two different heights to allow using oblong pans. Maybe an upgrade from '02? We special ordered it in our new DS as well! And yes, it does take a little practice to get the speedcook settings right!

Hmm, my present rig, the '09 Magna, has the Advantium and doesn't have the wire shelf either. May just be missing, I'll have to go dig out the manual and see. Never bothered looking at the '09's manual as it operated pretty much the same as the '02's and, due to the late DW's poor health we didn't use the rig much.

We really liked the Sharp Carousel microwave/convection that came in our Monaco. After using the Frigidaire in our Dutch Star a couple of times, I replaced it with the same Sharp we were used to. They're a good microwave......I think it was $500.00. It's nice looking and comes with two round racks.

I have the sharp convection microwave in my 2002 Trek and a 15 year old ge advantium in s and b house. They both work well the sharp is smaller and does not have the advantium speed cook mode. However the sharp is better at browning with the top grill element.
