Build Schedule

We have a new Ventana on order. When we placed the order, delivery was thought to be in early-mid October.

Will Newmar contact me when the production schedule is set?

If you're taking the factory delivery option, I would think they would have contacted you already. We're taking delivery at the factory in Mid October also and they called me about a month ago.

kamakalama ... I just sent you a PM with a suggestion.

Congratulations on the new Ventana. If I remember correctly ... you had a Thor that you were trading in? Are you doing a factory pick-up or taking delivery at the dealer?

Steve

Traded in a Thor 36MQ. Looking forward to the 1.5 bath floor plan, ISL, and all the other Newmar amenities.

We'll be taking delivery in early November at Guaranty RV in Oregon. Factory delivery would be nice but too many other things going on this fall.

We ordered our Canyon Star last September. We were sent cut sheets to sign off on before our unit was built. A call to Newmar sales and we were given a build date.

... is it there yet?

We're headed to Junction City (140 miles) Saturday (11/9) to do the PDI and take delivery. Planning to spend the night there so we can test various systems overnight.

The dealer said they have a routine they follow for a PDI. We plan to arrive several hours early so we can do our own routine.

Any suggestions for areas where we should pay special attention?

I'll post photos and play-by-play this weekend.

Arrived home with the new rig this afternoon after spending the night at the dealer campground. Like the new rig very much. Love will begin once we move our stuff aboard and get settled.

Overall, things went well with the delivery. A few minor items appear on the punchlist along with several questions listed below.

If I could do it over again, I'd pick a weekday rather than Saturday as dealer (technical) resources on the weekend are limited leading to unanswered questions. I can see the argument for factory delivery if time and resources allow.

Most issues are minor or cosmetic which wont be much of a problem to correct. For example; four nails sticking up out of the floor under the dining table or wires under the driver seat bundled too tightly to permit seat rotation..

The entry door deadbolt won't engage if you don't throw an NFL body block into the door when turning the key.

We're also getting a whine on the TV input to the entertainment system

A few others...

Questions:

1. The Oasis circulates heated coolant all the time. The LED for loop 1 and Loop 2 are both on. There is no discussion of it in the Oasis manual. How does the system work? It throws unwanted heat and wastes energy. I expected energy would be consumed only when needed for space or water heating.

2. There is a small solar panel on the roof above the driver. What is it for?

3. There are globs of grease all around the rim on the driver side tag. Is that from mounting the tire or is something else going on? I spotted this last night after the demo but there was nobody around today to ask the question. The rims in general are pretty dull and not highly polished.

4. Is there a main AC breaker on the coach? The shore power went out this morning but I couldn't find a breaker to check.

5. How secure is the keyless lock? I was disappointed to learn that it does not actuate the deadbolt. I've heard that the key to the handle lock that it does activate is widely available and not secure.

6. Is there a way to send audio from the dash radio to the entertainment system?

I have no answers to your questions, but just want to congratulate you on you new coach--it's gorgeous! Your pup has made himself right at home already and has found several new favorite places. All the best for years of enjoyment!
