Calyx Institute

With all the recent changes with FMCA Tech Connect I keep hearing about the above as a good alternative.
Anyone here have first hand experience with Calyx?

Would appreciate your comments.

We switched from FMCA to Calyx Sustainer a few months ago. Much higher speeds than we ever got with FMCA and the Mifi 8000L.

The ordering process was easy and I was absolutely shocked to find out that the Year One price of $750 was just that, $750.00. No tax, no shipping, no fees on top.

Year Two is $500 or an average of just under $42 per month.

Apparently T-Mobile is contractually committed to provide this service to certain 501(c)(3) organizations as long as T-Mobile uses a certain frequency band, and they are now using that band for their new 5G service so it looks like the service will not be ending.

The T-Mobile Home Internet service is supposed to be about the same for $50 a month, and apparently T-Mobile just removed the restriction on taking that system with you on the road.

We are now eleven hours into a home Internet outage with Breezeline so I'm thinking I may try the Home Internet service for the house.

Last summer was living in my RV at a friend's farm several hundred miles away from my ”T-Mobile Billing Address”. Had their home internet gateway that worked well for a week or so then locked up.

They sent a replacement at their cost via FedEx overnight to the friends farm. That one died a few weeks later but I was impressed with their effort to keep me.

This quoted post has nothing to do with the Calyx institute the op asked about. The t mobile home internet is a t mobile only program.

I have both the new FMCA and the Calyx institute. I went with the same program as the op.
Where I am currently , in the mountains, it is great during the day but the t mobile service fades badly after 3 pm. So currently the FMCA att is working more consistently. When I get to a better location the Calyx one will be fine. I need two at this time as I will eventually leave one at my storage facility to cameras and temp control.

I have a sustainer membership with Calyx with the MiFi M2000. This is the 5g hotspot. I'm in Spokane now, DOWNLOAD Mbps 485.54 UPLOAD Mbps 53.58. A few weeks ago in the middle of no where St. Regis MT download 50 upload 50, still great speeds. I think I can recall once in the last six months having to turn on an At&t hotspot I've kept active due to no signal with the M2000.

I have been looking at this and guess I am having a brain f.......

So the Sustainer Membership says;

Yearly: $750 for first year, $500 thereafter
Quarterly: $175 every three months (only available as a renewal)

So is the price the yearly membership fee plus and additional $175 per qtr.
Thanks

Renewal is $500 OR $175 qtr when paid quarterly

Those are better speeds and pricing than I am seeing with cable from Spectrum. Wow, I'll be giving this some thought.

Does Calyx play well with roof mounts or just plug in the hotspot and let it do it's thing?

I wonder if anyone actually ever opted to pay $700 for Year Two and on by paying quarterly.

"Calyx" offers different hotspots depending on your membership level. The Inseego M2000 I have does not have any external ports for external antennas.

Nick,
I received my Calyx M2000 this afternoon and used it in my home most of the day. Attached are my speed test during today. Ignore the top and bottom readings as that was my Fios home internet.
