Campgrounds around Augusta Ga.

I just got tickets for next year's Masters tournament. Anyone have a good review for a campground other than Heritage? I can't fit into any of their "packages" other than a seven night stay.

Corp of Engineer Campgrounds on the lake. www.recreation.gov search for Appling GA, then look at Petersburg Campground. COE has water and electric, no sewer, and only $26 a night. You can reserve 6 months out, so mark your calendar and be ready to reserve. Sites 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16 are good sites, also when you look at the map of the camp ground there is a peninsula and the sites are in upper 40's (site 45, 46, 47, etc.), those are good sites as well. The ones in the teens are very close to bath house, we always go to Petersburg for weekends or long weekends since we live in Augusta.

I recently stayed at Heritage RV Park. They do a great business at Masters time.
