Campgrounds With A View
Setting up our first summer/fall travel schedule. Any memorable campgrounds with awesome natural surroundings? Thanks Wayne

X2... Devil's Garden is the name of the campground at Arches and it is one of the most incredible CG's I've ever been to. We include that in our travels at least once or twice a year. If in CO there are many beautiful places to camp. Don't miss Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. Sylvan Lake out west of Vail as another beautiful spot.
Only problem is that most great parks are heavily booked 6 months in advance, forget about a weekend reservation if you don't already have one.

Ovens in Nova Scotia. You park facing right out into the ocean. Also the campground on the Homer Spit in Alaska where you also park facing the water. Cool wildlife and great scenery.

Glenn,
The website says" some sites can accomodate RV's up to 30 feet in length. Did you have a problem? I have same size coach as you.

Tom Sawyer RV in West Memphis Arkansas! Nice concrete RV sites that sit on the banks of the Mississippi River. We go out of our way to stay here and enjoy the massive barges that move up and down the river.

Wayne, I assume you are referring to Devil's Garden in Arches NP, it is no problem. There are a number of sites that will easily handle even a 40' coach. We like site 21 but the worst site here is still heaven.
Here is a picture of our last visit in this site. You can see there is plenty of room, a nice large fire pit area in front of the coach and pretty private. No worries about the road being so close, this is just the CG road and not a lot of traffic.

Here's another wonderful view of our old Aliner from years ago in another spot in Devils Garden CG, Arches NP.

Hi wracinti,
Hidden Mountain Resort, The Dell in Sevierville, Tennessee. Site 2615, 2603 or 2601. Listed in order of the best view. The view is of the Smoky Mountains (including MT. LeConte). One has all the peace and quiet one desires but is about a mile (no traffic) from the entertainment district. There is also the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. There is a considerable amount of activities one can do in the Park. Go to http://www.hiddenmountain.com/cabin-type/the-dell-rv/ and check it out. If you have any questions, PM me at iRV2 or garykd47@gmail.com

Elk Meadow RV resort in Estes Park CO.
It's up the side of a hill/mountain, so every site is higher than the one next to it and you can see right over the top of your neighbor. Beautiful views.
