Looking for a nice campground with stuff to do within 3 hours of Cincinnati. Thanks for any suggestions.

How fast do you drive? If you can get to about 500 mph, Moab Utah is only three hours away and it's wonderful.

Cincinnati is close to several Ohio state parks. Alum Creek is about 2 1/2 hours. Hocking Hills is also 2 1/2 hours. Deer Creek is about 2 hours. Hueston Woods is about 1 hour away. All Ohio state parks offer good hiking trails - Hocking Hills, in particular, has some of the best hiking in Ohio (IMHO). I would suggest checking the parks' websites through ODNR for specific activities in and near each park. I've lived in Ohio my whole life and I'm a big fan of our state parks. They are well maintained (for the most part) and reasonably priced campgrounds. Enjoy your time in the Buckeye State!

Hello, if you are a FMAC member, they have a small campground at their headquarters there......
Stay up to 2 nights per month FREE. Depending on space availability, members may stay a maximum of five additional nights per month for a fee of $20 per night..........

If Cincinnati is your main destination, I recommend Winton Woods. It's a county park and the campground is clean and secure. The park has a lake for paddle boat and kayak rentals. There is a nice concrete path around the lake for walking and biking. The woods offer lots of trails and picnic areas with grills.
When your not at the park, hop on the highway towards Cincinnati and go to the Zoo...one of the best. Further south is downtown with Fountain Square. Lots of bars and restaurants with shopping nearby. While there get on the new street car and up to historical OTR. There you'll find popular breweries and The Findlay Market.
Get back on highway and cross the bridge over the Ohio river into Covington and Newport, Ky. Again, eateries and shops over there as well the Newport Aquarium.
Hope this helps.

Big Bone Lick State Park in KY.
Relatively small park in Union with a swimming pool. It is close to the Creation museum and the Ark.

X2 on FMCA's park & also Winton Woods. See My Album for photos of us at WW last year. So easy to get to anything in/around Cinci from there.

wracinti, I see that you’re Cincinnatti based, so I presume you’re asking on behalf of family or friend. We’ve stayed a few times at the FMCA Park, and would recommend it for a short stay. If you want the woodsy, campground type ambience, you’ll be better off traveling a bit.
Just for clarification, the FMCA Park is not at their HQ building on Clough Pike. It is located with their mail facility on Round Bottom Rd.
