Exclamation Canyon Star 3710 slide operation check

On a 2016 Newmar Canyon Star Gas RV 3710

Would you level RV with stabilizer jacks first then deploy slides , that way they track out and in properly.

Then retract slides first then pull up jacks ,

Is that the proper way ...??

On mine I would always level first the put the slides out, most of the talk about putting the slides out first is on the Full Wall Slides floor plans.

Hi tvp,
The bottom line is whatever procedure you use to extend the slides always reverse that procedure to retract them. I would add to check the reveal when the site is really out of level. If the reveal is okay then do your procedure. There is another possibility. The possibility is one wheel may be in a depression. In this case check the reveal first. If okay extend the slides then level. If not okay, level the coach, check the reveal then deploy the slides. In any case, do not extend the slides if the reveal can not be made parallel to the box the slide is in. Get another site.

That's the way I was instructed to do it, and it works great for us, no slide issues, and they always align the same way when brought back in.

Regardless of the status of the jacks check the reveal before pushing any buttons. Leveling can cause reveal issues too depending on what the jacks have to do to get level. There is no one method that works for all campsites or situations. This applies to all size slides.
