Canyon Star dinette seating base removal
We have a 2017 Canyon Star that came with the booth dinette and would like to remove the bench seating and go to chairs. We hope/plan to keep the existing table top/eating surface.
Has anyone removed their dinette and if so, any particular watch outs they can provide? Any info would be appreciated.
Edited to say that I searched the Newmar owners forum and didn't find any threads on this but if I missed one that anyone knows of please let me know.
Thanks.

The flooring under the benches might not look very good, screw holes and unfinished edges.

Yeah - it does look like the carpet underneath is cut our around the base a bit. If cut out too much I was thinking that I could run new carpet underneath. My brother had the carpet under his sofa and dining area replaced last year and said that it "wasn't too expensive or too big of a job".
From an unfinished standpoint, I'm most worried about the wall behind the rear booth. I want to take screws out and pull it away but am a little leery of not being able to re-secure things.

Just removed both sides of the dinette seating and was pleasantly surprised to find the carpet intact with no cutouts and in great shape. My other concern was for the wall behind the rear booth seat and again I was pleasantly surprised to find it in great condition...actually looks brand new.
We really wanted chairs when looking for our coach but liked the looks of this one and settled for the booth. We're glad to get what we originally wanted with a minimal amount of effort and a little bit of cost for the new chairs.

As long as they finished out underneath, you shouldn’t have any issues. Remove the seat belts and fill the holes with silicone.

We pulled out the booth in our 2014 Dutch Star and all that was there were a couple of screw holes that were hidden by the carpet. Yours may be different.
However, I thought I would add a great place we found four new chairs made for RV's. Newmar chairs were over $800.00 each.
