Canyon Star drivers using hand control

Recently I ordered a Canyon Star 3911 and need to determine a functional hand control to install. I am a T10 Para using portable style hand controls in a car since 1973. Doubt my current set would be suitable for the MH.
I purchased the MH from North Trail RV in Ft Meyers FL. Delivery is expected in June 2018.
There is a local Ft Meyers mobility shop willing to install hand controls but I'd like to be educated as to what hand controls are available and the plus/minus of each.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If you are in Florida and use hand controls I'd like to stop by and look at your setup if willing to spare the time.

Thank you,

Joe

Don’t know much of anything about hand controls, however the throttle and brake are like a car but easier to push. So I suspect hand controls would be easier to install. Gear Shift and steering would definitely work as is. Hope this helps somewhat.

I too will be purchasing a 3911 soon. Wanted to go with the Ventana but for several reasons 43' won't work for us. On our current MH, a Southwind we have standard MPD push/rock hand controls. The disadvantage to these and others of the same type is that they take up space under the steering column. I find it difficult to get my legs in position without scraping them on the hand control. In addition they can interfere with the tilt wheel function. If the under the steering column mount isn't an issue for you there are many models that will work.

There are new models out now that connect to the gas electronically and to the brake mechanically.

For the new 3911 I plan to use the MPD 3700. This is a push/pull control that mounts to the left or right on the steering wheel. The trip-pin probably wouldn't appeal to you.
