Inline fuse

I just came back from the factory. While there my stopped working and it was a large inline fuse between the inverter and the batteries. The fuse cost $88

My understanding of the little solar charger on the roof is to manage the phantom drain caused by the little computers in the dash electrical equipment (like clock radio).

Good news. After taking the advice of people smarter than me - thanks for your posts - I disconnected shore power yesterday and walked around with an outlet tester. I had 110v power. The refrigerator was on. The panel on the door of the fridge only lights up when I open the door, then it times out and shuts off. You can't use the lights on the panel as an indication that the fridge does or does not have power. I open the door and the light tells me everything I need to know. I set the Inverter to be always on. I now have to learn more about taking care of those batteries. I see a number of posts on this forum on that very topic, so I will read those before I post questions. Thanks again, everyone!

BTW, those cables in the basement compartment behind the coach battery tray must surely be the Solar Prep. I noticed in the panel above the main door a sticker that reads "Solar Prep". That leads me to believe (as stated in the previous replies) the RJ45 cable terminates behind that panel. The red and white 10 gauge wires likely terminate under one of those sealed panels on the roof. I have a drone and flew it over the roof of the RV slowly, looking carefully at everything. There are two little plates - one above the passenger and another farther back - and I suspect the one towards the middle of the RV has those Solar wires. Hope that helps somewhat...

Glad you figured it out. So are you saying there is a solar panel up there or just a location for one or two? I cannot get on top of mine to actually see (and not really crazy about climbing up that ladder.
BTW, I found the inverter on/off switch, hiding in plain sight on the panel, just like my wife told me. duh!

There is just a small 10w , I believe, panel up there that just keeps the chassis battery topped off. 10w is less than an amp so it's just a small trickle charge to counteract the phantom draws. It doesn't do anything, as far as I know, for your house batteries. for reference, it's probably about the size of an iPad.

Hi - There happens to be a small solar panel as others have noted. It is a trickle charger for the chassis batteries, I believe. The Solar Prep is for big solar panels that feed the coach batteries. Solar Prep just means they ran the cables. It doesn't mean there are any solar panels up there, darn it. When you are ready to invest in solar panels, they pull off an access panel and the other end of the red and white power lines are there under that panel. Hope that helps...

Any ideas welcome.
My problem turned out to be the in line Breaker in the battery compartment. It had a red button that I thought reset the breaker. But it trips it (test?). To "reset" the breaker, there is a small black lever at bottom of the black breaker (black on black and hard to see)..

Red and obvious, trips the breaker. Black and hidden, turns it back on. Makes total sense...
