Canyon Star's hitch is it welded or bolted?

I was wondering if the receiver on the Canyon Star is welded on or bolted on. If bolted it would be a lot easier to replace.

I like the idea of a triple receiver hitch for mounting baskets or bike racks over one that mount on a single receiver due to less rotational torque. I think it's also safer than using an adaptor to mount the hitch plus bike carrier.

I think you will find it is welded on, certainly the Freightliner ones are. Normally the 3 point hitch is only needed when you want to add a motorcycle lift or something equally heavy. I tow a car and have a bicycle carrier on my 2" hitch and have no problems.

Can't say for sure but on the Ford F53 chassis with 5000 lbs capacity, it's probably bolted.
When we had our 2015 F53 chassis, we got a recall notice for the hitch bolts from Ford.

"Timon".......just a thought.....I never liked racks moving about, even though some play was probably better than making them rigid. Even so, the anal twit in me wanted it mounted so it didn't move. Over the years I've done two things. On something like a basket, I added tabs from the basket, back toward the hitch, so the tabs were under the hitch and couldn't rock.

Now I just use an anti rattle bracket that locks the receiver to the hitch. There are several models you can buy. Roadmaster sells one and so do others. They lock the receiver solidly into place and will prevent things like bike racks from moving. I always use one on my tow bar to prevent slop when I start and stop.
