Carefree Awning arm removal

Have a 2018 Ventana 4369 with Carefree Eclispe Patio awning. The wind sensor, which is a box in the motor housing, stopped working, long story short, I found that when it was installed, instead or running the motor and wind sensor wires through the arm channel in parallel they crossed the wires as ther came out of the coach wall. When the awning closed, it wound pinch the wires at the top of the arm, I can see that the sensor wire it pinched badly and the motor wire has an indentation. I was told that behind the arm bracket attached to the wall is a place where the wires connect. Has anyone ever taken the arm off to get to the wiring? Or do I have to remove the whole awning? Thanks

I've seen Darren over at MyRVWorks.com use really heavy duty tie straps to hold the arm together. You might be able to do that and remove it.
I couldn't find the video but you can check over at myrvworks.com . He has the videos sorted in playlist that make it pretty easy to watch the ones that are applicable.
