Carefree Awning Extension

If you're lucky enough to have a Carefree awning there is a great add-on I highly recommend. I ran across this at FMCA rally in Perry, GA this past March. This awning extension goes into a slot in your carefree awning roller at the end of the awning when extended. It has a zipper on the bottom that a second part attaches to so you can anchor to the ground and create a walled in screen if desired. I typically use it as shown in the picture which gives much better awning coverage vs. the rain blocker you have without this. Now you actually have a sun screen! It rolls up on the roller tube when retracted.

Measure the width of your awning (canvas), I won't even try to remember what I bought. Then get the longest from top to bottom as you have a kitchen slide taking up some patio space so allowing a nice angle out and anchored gives you a bigger patio space when screened in.

Happy Camping!

Thanks NealC. I looked on Shadepro.net. They show drops starting at 6’. Yours doesn’t look to be the 6’ drop. Is it?

I "think" my width was 17ft and my drop was 11ft. You may want to call them. I don't see the 11ft drop in their drop down list on the web site. You want the largest drop so you can angle it out away from the patio slide. The drop I believe is the upper part and the lower portion zipped on together.

We bought from these folks about (2-3) yrs ago at one of the larger FMCA rallies at Madison, Wis. Our awning is a A&E, I believe, and measured 19ft. We also bought an shorter extra screen piece which can be zipped on either end. I believe the height of ours was 8ft. Good quality stuff.
