Caulk Material Over Top of Window Rubber Seals

I have a sealing material that is beaded on the rubber window seal that covers the top and down the sides a few inches. All windows have this material, although it is not the same everywhere. Some of mine is showing signs of age. I was going to replace it with ProflexRV but the original material seems to be more compliant. It doesn't appear to be RTV. I have found RTV and Skylight Sealer on Comnet. They also show "CAULKING BUTYL BLK TREMPRO 651". Is this what I am looking for to do this job?

How about Dicor Lap Sealant (not self leveling)?

What have you used to replace this bead of caulking?

Hi vettenuts,
Consider calling Newmar on Monday and ask them what they used. The caulk on my coach looks like a silicone based clear sealant. I did not need to re-caulk my windows before they were replaced.

I'd be interested to hear what you find. They use it on most all exterior penetrations.

Here's a post that answers what Newmar uses for sealants, for above the windows it's Parbond.

According to that data sheet it is Parbond. Have to investigate where to purchase. It appears there are a few different versions so not sure which to get.

Just did one side of my 2001 DS with Dicor self leveling white...
Dug out the old calking with my trusty pocket knife down 1/4 inch & layed a small bead of Dicor... Smoothed out with finger or a putty knife...
You can also mask tape the black window metal to keep the Dicor off...
