CB on Bay Star

Hey group has anyone installed a CB antenna on a Bay Star 2901. If so, where did you locate the antenna and what kind did you use? I’m thinking about mounting one on the roof ladder because I hate thinking about drilling through the fiberglass.
Thanks!

Why worry about drilling through fiberglass, worst case it is easy enough to patch, unlike metal. On my coach I installed a side mount No Ground Plane antenna through the front fiberglass cap by the drivers side window, with an optional spring mount. No Ground Plane Side Mount Kits from FIRESTIK®

If nothing else it makes a great tree limb feeler before low limbs can hit the air conditioner.

Not on a Bay Star but on another class A

THe Pillar in the photo you posted. Between the Windshield and the driver's window

I got a "Mirror Mount" No ground plane antenna. This has a bracket that is two pieces one is more or less "L" shaped and holds the asntenna, the other well if not for the bend around the arm it would be flat (both pieces have this bend) 5 bolts clamp it to as "West Coast" type mirror

THe Mount or one like it

Now mine both halves had the "notch" aprt to clampt to the mirror

The antenna is a NO GROUND PLANE.. The Firestick si a good one though Mine is different.

I attached the antenna to the mount and positioned the mount on the pillar so that the TIP of the antenna is ... by about 1 inch.. the HIGHEST part of the motor home when goign down the road (auto-stick bridgges)

The cable was passed through a hole drilled in the Pillar, into the channel (you can remove the inside cover) down to the radio.. IT was sealed with GOOP. and in my case due to teh bracket having the "Tunner" notch it comes out under the bracket, aroung to the bracket and .. Done.
neat, Clean, Legal height, No need to worry about bridges.
