Chairs table not held down

new to motorhoming why is the table, couch or chairs not tied or bolted down, i seen loose items on tables and in the interior would this not be a safety issue sudden stop or collision ?

Our coach has 2 regular style dining room chairs that are located at the dining room table top and through 50,000 miles of driving in the past few years we have never had an issue with the chairs being a problem on rough roads or quick stops. We have had 2 or 3 quick stops due to traffic conditions and idiot drivers and never had an issue. We do not leave items on the table unless that item has a rubberized backing that keeps it in place. Our couch is bolted down and I suspect yours was at one point in time.

We had dining table with movable chairs in previous coach, they stayed in place by themselves. Current coach also movable chairs, but high back and not as heavy so they will topple. A long flat bungee cord keeps them in place for travel.

We have stuff on countertops that has rubber feet or base that keeps them from sliding. Nothing sharp or so heavy that it would be a dangerous projectile.
