Changed brands.

Hello, fellow travelers. Since I am inching my way to retirement, one of my assignments is to get my ducks in a row. One of my ducks is this. I have upgraded to a DP, and hope I made the right decision. 1994 Newmar Dutch Star DS DP MM
Anyone else have a 1994? Any known problems? Can anyone speak to the build quality? How about the diesel fuel economy? 10 mpg will be satisfactory.

I was having trouble posting a photo, but I think I'm now fully successful.
Keep me in your prayers, or if you don't believe in that stuff, wish me luck.
Railhead. 391 days to my other retirement, or sooner....

10mpg is going to be more like 8, most likely. Build quality I would expect to be good.

You're looking at a twenty three year old coach. At that point the individual unit condition will outweigh the overall impressions of 1994 DS units. I would spend the money to get it professionally inspected.

I agree with above poster. Newmar is a good brand but you have an old coach. How it was maintained and current condition trumps everything else.

Do check the age of the tires. On the tires is a date code with 4 numbers. the 1st two numbers are the week when made and the last 2 numbers are the year. Sample would be 3209 which would be the 32nd week of 2009. Once tires are 6 years of age we would recommend replacing them. Have 2 tire blow out and the damage that can happen that is important.
