Changing water filter in Maytag residential frig

This will be the 4th time I've changed the water filter in Maytag residential refrigerator in my 2015 DS 4018. It seems like removing the plug and installing the new filter takes so much effort that something at the end attachment might break off.

Do they all take so much umph to get this all changed? Since the filter swings down a little then where it attaches might not be that strong. Am I worrying for nothing, considering how well built the Maytag and Whirlpool appliances for the RVs are built? I say this with tongue in cheek.

I'm assuming it is a sealing cap with a rubber o-ring. I would suggest a small amount of Vaseline for the o-ring.
