Indeed, I am familiar with the conceptual differences between the two different load-designs within my battery bay. As evidenced by my rebuff of an employee at a large national automotive chain that I visited because their website claimed to have a good deal on Alliance batteries, that are likely the evolution of my OEM chassis batteries. He told me "you need RV/Marine Deep Cycle Batteries because that there is one heck of a big RV and it needs the extra juice to start that big ole' diesel." I tried to explain that two 12V batteries of approx. 1000 CCA are already "extra juice" of the appropriate duty cycle design. It was like talking to a brick wall. Nice guy, but determined to continue spreading battery fallacies. I left smiling and empty-handed since the Alliance "deal" appears to be a bait and switch.

As far as load testing all my batteries, mine were looked at by the shop with a pro-level Snap On meter. I have yet to acquire a meter sufficient for the task, but it's in the plans.
