Chassis battery disconnect and solar panel

Hello

Just picked up our new to us 2005 Dutch Star 3810.

Spent most of weekend getting used to driving it around and getting familiar with it as well as loading stuff in.

We had a TT for 12 years so we are not completely new to RV's, just new to class A DP's

I took the coach to the storage yard tonight and turned off the coach batteries by using the switch in the overhead cabinet at the front, and I disconnected the chassis batteries by using the chassis battery switch in the engine compartment.

Will the small solar panel on the roof still put a small charge into the coach batteries when the chassis battery switch is open (off)?

Thanks

Doug

To be sure... with the coach unplugged...so the house charger isn't supplying a charge to the chassis batteries thru the bird...take a voltmeter reading of the chassis batteries. If it's above 12.6 ...the solar panel is doing it.

I am not sure how yours is wired...but I believe the shutoff switch just cuts the line to the starter.
