It could be any number of things. Some light controls, especially with wireless remotes can draw current, likewise the CO or LP detector, stereo memory presets, TV antenna booster, etc. If you remove a battery post and put a multimeter or 12v bulb in the gap, you could pull one fuse at a time in the fuse box until the meter/light changes intensity. Then you'll know which circuit has the drain and work from there.

The short has burnt my alternator up , with it off it still has a negative pull , could it be a selenoid sticking even though the master switch is cut off.

If a diode in the alternator is bad, it could cause a current drain. Hook a meter or bulb as described and disconnect the alternator. See if the current goes away.

use an ohm meter. disconnect the engine battery cable from the engine battery. connect the ohm meter between the cable end and the battery.
start pulling fuses from your fuse panel. you will see a drop when you get to the right fuse. there always seems to be more than one, so look for a drop, not the meter going to no reading, unless there is only one draw.

Your starter should not be there until key is operated.
Normal loads would be your ECM, TCM,RADIO,maybe sound systems, anything plugged into 12v lighters.
