Check Engine Light

Have an intermittent check engine lite on our 2000 Dutch Star DP with Cummins on Spartan chassis. Caught the code today ID 180 FM 10. Haven't had any luck determining what this code is. Any help would be very much appreciated.

What we learned on our 04 Essex with check engine codes is that Spartan has their own codes which aren't connected with Cummins codes. After a couple years we did a chart that crossed over between Spartan check engine light codes and Cummins. It was only good for the 500 ISM engine. If the check engine light comes on and even goes off Cummins can get the information from the computer. Might try disconnecting the batteries for 5 min. and then reconnecting them to see if the check engine light comes back on.

I also have a check engine light that keeps coming on. Suppose to be some type of false temperature reading for my DEF tank.

So maybe if I take off a battery connection for 5 minutes then reconnect it might clear it. I know this works with most automobiles just didn't know if it would work with these engine/chassis.

Just a general comment on “elusive Check Engine Lights”... The most COMMON cause is Low Coolant!! I had one, every time I hit an incline... Something simple to check!!
