Chrome exterior baggage door handles

When we ordered our DutchStar 4018 we added the aforementioned chrome baggage handles at the salesman suggestion ..... The Harley rider in me said YES.......well the DW is having second thoughts.
Does anyone have these?
What do you think.

Hi Len,

It's a matter of personal preference, We have them and like them. Summit products in Iowa makes some nice stainless stuff for the coach also. If you ordered any stainless for you coach, it probably came from Summit Products.

If you want the auto baggage door locks you have no choice but to get them. We were just at newmar and finalized our order and it was mentioned that the auto lock feature only works on the chrome handles. It is now a combined item on the latest option sheet dated in October.

It's a matter of taste. It also depends on what kind of final look you're going for. I just took delivery of my new DS the first week of October. I opted for the chrome handles. I called Summit and asked them to send me a sample of the 8 inch body armor. I personally thought that it looked too busy on my coach because of the chrome handles. Had I opted not to get the handles, we probably would have decided to go with one of Summit's body armor products.

Of course, everything that I'm stating is completely subjective. You may think it looks good with the chrome handles AND the body armor. I'm just trying to make the point that you should keep the finished (completed) look in mind from the beginning. Because for some applications the painted handles may look better. Additionally, I think it also depends on the paint scheme you've chosen for your bus as to whether the chrome handles look good or look great. I've included a couple pictures. You be the judge. Good luck with the ordering process. Click image for larger version

I like the chrome/stainless as well. I ordered the stainless trim from Summit and Newmar installed it at delivery.

Yes, we did. Thanks! We had several specials on our coach to make it one of a kind. We're really pleased with the way it turned out...

I'm working on it... Busy with work lately, but I am going to post a full overview of the factory delivery process, a review of the coach to date and several pictures. Maybe this weekend.

Odd. We ordered the auto baggage door locks and did NOT order the chrome handles. I guess it's coming with chrome handles???

I'm not sure if it the same with the Ventana but it's the case with Dutch Star. This info came directly from Michelle @ Newmar.

My very question. I'm working on an order, want the auto baggage locks but would prefer painted handles. Guess we have no choice.
