Cigarette lighter receptacle wiring

Since I bought the 2015 DS 9 months ago, I had problem with the cig. Lighter receptacle on the dash, by the AC/heater controls. Even cost me money sending electronics for repairs, thinking they are broken and will not accept charge.
Than I measured the voltage, and it was 11.7V. Enough to turn on the green charging led on the charger, but not enough to charge.
Today, I took down the whole panel with the radio and back up camera.
Sure enough the wires provided 11.7V?
Managed to dig up unused wire with 13.8V and rewired the receptacle with 10A in-line fuse. Now I have a useful charging outlet.
Don’t they check that stuff before sending a half a million dollar coach out of the door?

I had exactly the same problem in my 2016 4369. Found a brake controller line to use. Some problems they don't address. Another overheating electronics bay or the driver seat back hitting the slide wood trim preventing it from moving back.

You are right about the wood trim behind the driver seat. I’m more comfortable in the CRV than the DS. I’m 6’3” and sitting straight up for hours without being able to move gets painful.
Just today I was looking at it and thinking how I can fix it?

I cut the area out to get the seat back further. Click image for larger version
