Clean hands...

I hate diesel... and draining the black water tank isn't far behind.

Tried several soaps and my hands still stink hours after filling up our tank. Sometimes I think it's soaks through my skin and can taste it.

Also tried diposable latex gloves for the black water but they are way too fragile and get holes in them before I'm even done emptying one pair of tanks.

Guessing they might be 2 different solutions but what are you doing to keep or wash off diesel and for or after emptying black water?

I'm not even really a clean freik but there must be a better way.
Some kind of gloves, disposable, certain soap....?

Leather work gloves when filling diesel. No gloves when dumping the holding tanks. Lots of soap and water.

DITTO.

Or get a gasoline powered coach.

Personally I love the smell of diesel in the morning....gasoline I can't stand.

Are you related to Mr. Monk???

Unlike Latex Gloves, Nitrile Gloves are more durable and won't shread/tear during fueling/waste removal tasks. Available at Harbor Freight in 100 count boxes they are a cheap and effective way to protect your hands

Here's the info from HF!

Large Nitrile Gloves - Pack of 100

How about the cotton gloves dipped in rubber. Leakproof, impervious to oil or acid and durable.

I was at Lowes and getting ready to mix some concrete which generally messes up my hand, I found some Orange industrial type gloves, they looked like the ones at the grocery store, for washing dishes, but twice as thick, they lasted about 1 year but got my moneys worth.

Never use gloves for either. Love the smell of diesel. If I'm dumping and I have a cut on my hand I will use a glove.. otherwise.. it's good soap and water..

You Guys are Great. Thanks for all the feedback.
Ordered the Nitrile disposables for the poop and the those orange gloves sound like the ticket for the Diesel.

Thanks again,
... And no, as much as I enjoyed Monk I can't quite aspire to be that extreme a clean friek.

Disposable gloves for both. Cheap and can get them at any drug store. While you are there find the shoe covers too. Diesel is really oily and you will be amazed how dirty they will be when you pull them off getting back in. I look a bit silly walking into the truck stop with hospital booties on but I don't care. My mh steering wheel is clean and the floor never gets diesel on it.

I use washable nitrile cleaning gloves when dumping but I keep a pump of Orange Gojo soap in the utilty bay next to the shower for washing the diesel off my hands. The citrus is the only thing I have found to cut the petroleum smell. Also, NAPA carries a mechanics hand soap that is very good as well.

If you do get the smell on your hands just use some toothpaste and liquid soap. It takes the smell of fish off your hands too.
