Clearance light leaking

Hello everyone,

The clearance light on top of windshield seems to be leaking when it rains. Where do I get the rubber gasket for it. I went on the roof and show the gasket missing due to wear and tear. Thanks for help.

You may want to clean it real well and then install it with some silicon. It will then never leak.

Wouldn't it be hard if I have to change the bulb after I use silicon.

Clearance lamp , assemblies are available at , truck stops and auto parts stores, I don't think anyone whould have the gaskets seperately. Using silicone sealant is an option and can be cut away with a razor knife if removal is necessary.
P>S> Light was a Newmar installed item , posting in the Newmar owners forum , would have got you more replies.

Here is a fix that will make it leak proof for years with LED lights.

Newmar had them for our 1999MA.
They are sold as follows;
#18684 light base, bulb, and orange lens $9.415 ea + S&h
#20619 light base, bulb, and red lens $9.415 ea
#55900 gasket, base $1.034 ea
#55901 gasket lens $0.812 ea

Prices as of 7-11-2012 takes 1 ea of part# (red or orange) to replace 1 light asm.
I did all 5 front and all 5 back (after hail damage to the front lens and subsequent front drivers side leak) and hope for 5yrs min.service life based on this known light design/gasket durability flaw. Bought 10ea. front and 10ea. back plus extra gaskets for spares. Original ones lasted till hail damage last year as coach is stored inside 6mo/yr.

Easy replacement, hardest part to replace is digging out the sealant Newmar applied on the top edge of the light & lens. 10min to replace each light/lens/2 gaskets, used wire nuts.
Siliconed between the back of the light to gasket and back gasket around recessed hole to coach. Had to drill 1 small hole thru the plastic light base (like original) for the mounting screw. No silicone between lens, front gasket, and light base.
The lights are Grote brand.
No leaks.

Newmar may have led replacements as I remember for more$. We went with original.

I too have a 2002 KSDP, just recently replaced the front clearance light assembly and gaskets. I purchased the light assemblies on he internet, they are made by Grote, and both the base gasket and lens gasket from Newmar. Hope this helps.

I ordered the light assembly on amazon.com, and ordered the gaskets by calling Newmar and ordering over the phone. I got the part number for light assembly on Newmar website(vendor part number)

Randy. See my reply to post "Like to replace my amber clearance lights""
Make this installation and you'll have no more leaks and no bulbs to ever change.
