CO Detector

My original CO detector in the bedroom died. It was a Costar, but online reviews are not that great.. What are others using?

Amazon.com: MTI Industries 65-542 12-V Flush Mount Hard Wired Carbon Monoxide Alarm: Automotive

I chose the flush mount one as that's what I had previously.

I replaced my aged out CO detector with a Kidde KN-COB-B. Mac the Fire Guy recommends this make/model for RV use.

I just replaced it with the Costar since the mount was already there, but maybe the next time I won't. The online reviews are right. The first Costar lasted 2 years. The second one lasted six months. Let's see how long detector #3 goes.

Sorry to hear about your crappy CO detectors. My first Safe-T-Alert lasted about 10 years before it told me that it was nearing its end of life by alarming and flashing every so often.

My Safe-T-Alert LPG detector was the same vintage but was not at its end of life cycle HOWEVER I decided to replace both at the same time.

Supposedly they should be replaced every 5 years or so. I guess I was lucky to get 10+ years from mine.
