Coach level

Just went through a troubleshooting exercise with my new coach because I wasn’t getting the yellow out of level lights on my Auto level control pad. Worked when I picked it up. The jacks would come down and stabilize and quit because they weren’t getting the out of level signal. Anyway, after I found the loose wire in the connector, (not properly seated during production in my opinion) everything worked. But I still didn’t like what I was seeing what the system called “level”. Newmar says 1 inch side to side and 5 inches front to rear. Yuk. With my new found knowledge of how this system works, I decided to adjust it myself. Step one is to level the coach manually. Well, I messed around with levels, all kinds of levels, you name it. How do you know when the coach is really level? Close enough? Looks good? Not me... The DW said how about putting a ball on the floor? Bingo. We put a trackball from the computer on the floor in the middle of the kitchen and leveled the coach until it didn’t roll. Then I got in the belly of the beast and adjusted the sensor until all yellow lights were out. FYI

Coach level

Just curious, but where is the sensor located? In practice I find I like my coach 'leveled' nose low. This keeps the AC condensate reliably exiting where I want.

It’s a small silver plate, 2” by 4” located about center of the coach hanging from the basement ceiling. It has 4 tiny leds and is attached with 3 screws on springs. You adjust it in Park, with the key on.

On Utube......RV Geeks......Level mate Pro. Pretty nice piece of equipment.
The old tried and true method to determine level, is to partially open the bathroom door and adjust till the door doesn't move.

Over the years I've heard levels on counter top, levels in fridge, using door swing as a test... my biggest 'must-be-level' test is that my head is not lower than my feet in bed

I was given one of the level mates and regifted it to someone else

I’ve always been told that the fridge should be level. I have a norcold that is obviously mounted in the cabinet. So I level the coach so the bubble level in the fridge is level. Only problem is that whoever installed the fridge didn’t do so with a level coach. So the coach is off level and the bathroom door swings open(very annoying). Now I would assume those with a residential fridge can adjust the feet on the fridge and level it after the coach is level, which would be nice. But I need the fridge level.

Are all the level plates in the same place?

really?

Really??? Frig level, door swing level, rolling ball level. A $5 carpenters level placed on the floor (not on carpet) front to back and then side to side will give you walking level in your coach. A small plastic 1" center float level will do the same. I now have auto air leveling but I started with stack blocks and a carpenters level. It is not that complicated. I saw one guy with a laser level sighting down the side of his coaches horizontal sidewall trim....Really ? Put the level on the floor, not the counter top. You walk on the floor.

Your fridge WILL BE LEVEL when the coaches floor is level. Sorry for yelling...

So don’t yell.

Deucenut told you his fridge was leveled with his coach not level. He’s asking for help. The fact that you have air level doesn’t help him.
