Cold Weather

We are storing our 2016 newmar ventana 3709 at a friends and only have 20 amp service. It is going to get in the 20s during the night but will go above freezing during the day. Right now we have the furnace set at 40 and wondered if this is enough to keep plumbing safe from freezing. We do have heat pads but didn't know if we had enough power to turn them on. we could unplug and go off batteries if we need to. Thanks for advise. We are putting coach in indoor storage in a few days so hopefully this will be the last time we need to worry. Right now we have almost all breakers off to preserve power.

If you've got plenty of propane, I'd set the temp a little higher...say 50 or even warmer. It'll keep the house and basement (I'm assuming the Ventana has basement heat) well above freezing. Open the cabinet doors so the heat will get to the undersink areas. Maybe turn on the propane side of the water heater too. I don't know what the tank heating pads draw...I'm sure someone here can tell you if they'll operate on 20 amps. Propane is cheap compared to replacing broken water lines and damage therefrom.

I THINK you should be OK. Assuming that it's presently stored outdoors, I'd recommend using your Oasis burner as your heat source. Just to reassure yourself, you may want to get a thermometer ($12) with a remote sensor. Put the base in the RV and the remote in the water bay. See how it goes. As you can see, we have the same coach. We have had a great experience. I just took ours in for PM of the generator and Oasis. ($$$ ouch)

Similar situation here, going to winterize tomorrow so just set the furnace to 40f and turned on the water heater (will turn off shortly).

I have bluetooth temp sensors in the coach and water bay I can access from the house.

Edit: ended up setting it to 45f.
