Country coach or newmar
I am about to pull trigger on purchasing a coach. I found a pristine 2008 country coach magna with 20k miles. For 325k. Or I am also looking at 2014 mountain aire, for a hundred and twenty five k more. If money was not a issue would I purchase in my mind a little higher quality coach the magna or buy the newer mountain aire? Looking long term would the country coach hold up better?

As much as this pains me, being a Newmar lover, I would pick the Country Coach. With that being said, 325K for a 2008 is a pretty run of the mill price for it. I hope this is asking price and you plan on getting it under 300K.

I know the Magna was the top of the CC line, but none of them were perfect, and I know several owners of "late model" CC who suffered thru serious quality issues. Even if this 08 is free of defects, IMO it is 6 years old with waaay too few miles (lot rot), and I think a NEW MADP with a warranty is a better choice "if money was not issue" (your words).
Buy the one your wife likes best......

I dunno........125K can buy a lot of warranty. The price does sound high to me but I'm no expert. CC is a good long term coach. We looked for one but couldn't find one within reasonable distance that met our wants. Have it checked out thoroughly by an expert and offer 250K and go from there. OR........do as a previous poster says: buy what your wife likes! That way you won't go wrong in her eyes. Good luck in your search.

Welcome to the forum.
Can help with these links to soften you up for the Newmar MADP , Brochure and Owners Guide.
Also go and read some of the Hoot's threads and see if they may help you decide and if you have the time you can even go see it built, change some of the interior of coach with people at Newmar, which I'm sure your wife may like, and than PDI it at factory a week and learn all about your new coach.
I rest my case.

The Affinity was CC's top of the line, if you discount Prevost conversions.

Thanks, I did not know that.
Do you know what model year was the last for the Affinity?

I guess you can't really discount either one but if it were me it would be the Newmar. As already mentioned it would be 6 years newer and have the warranty. Of course it's not my money. Wish you the best and good luck with the decision. Enjoy whichever one you choose.
