Crooked Sofa

So yesterday in Why, AZ it was blowing and raining to beat all hell. So I decided to check out my driver side Flexsteel leather sofa that was so crooked on the horizontal it stood out compared to the window frame behind it. I suspected lack of adjustment/poor workmanship as the culprit and was proven correct. So for 8 years the drawer beneath the sofa was a bear to open and the left side looked a couple of inches low. I removed the drawer and propped the sofa half open into a bed. Removed the bolt from the left side and levered the entire sofa mechanisms up to the same bolt hole the right side was adjusted to - go figure! Now it is perfectly level and the bottom storage drawer is a dream to open/close. The pics show how out of level it was and the right side correct and the left side way out and too low. Final pic shows right side same as left. Also the entire sofa is not bolted down but Newmar were kind enough to leave 3 of the 4 screws required in the drawer. I don't know why the previous owners put up with it but this coach was listed at $360k back in 2008. These factories say they do QC checks but all one has to do is stand inside the coaches and look around before they are delivered.

Greetings from Strawberry Az.

Glad to hear it was an easy fix and that it gave you something satisfying and fulfilling to do when stuck inside.
