Crown molding on Ventana FWS

Anyone have any issues with the crown molding on the FWS in a 3436 Ventana? Looks like they use approx 1" finish nails in pairs every 3 ft but not enough, at least on my unit. (The 17 ft board came off the wall on our trip home from the dealer)

Thanks
Corky

Is it a trim board on the fascia board or the whole fascia came off?

It's board on the wall, at joint between wall and ceiling, with the FWS. Not a board on the slide itself.

On my 07 MA I used the space behind Crown Molding to hide the HDMI cables I ran from my Electronics cabinet located above my fridge to the front TV. I used a Brad Nailer to refasten and had no problems using a 1 1-2" Brad. If you want a bit more holding power, try using small amounts of silicone every 18" or so in addition to the brads.

Good luck

We had just the opposite problem with crown molding. Needed to replace ceiling lights and needed to remove crown molding and Newmar must have used 1 big staple every inch. Very tough job getting crown molding down.

Guess I'll have to find a carpenter with a nailer, and more importantly someone that knows how to work with wood. I can torch it or weld it but not so good with wood.

After having a hard time getting crown molding down I decided to use RV silicone with fewer small nails to put back up 4 years ago. I had to find some pieces of wood to put pressure on till the silicone dried the next day and turned out great and will be easier to remove if I need to do it again. Might try the silicone as I did on our Essex.

You may be able to rent and electric brad nailer from Lowes or Home Depot. The guys there can show you how to use it. Or ask around most campgrounds. Often there's someone that can help.

Why not call Newmar Customer Service on Monday. They can direct you to the nearest Newmar dealer for help.

Good luck

Good luck

Sent email with pics of the crown molding (or lack thereof) along with a couple of overhead cabinet doors that have pucks the hinges this morning to the customerservice email but no response so far. While it's coming up on a holiday kind of surprised with the no response via email. Is this normal for Newmar?

Seems to take a few days on E Mail replies. If you need a quicker response, give them a call.
This item is obviously a warranty thing. If you don't trust the dealer, see if Newmar will approve a local cabinet maker / finish carpenter doing the work.

I can confirm email is not Newmar customer service choice of communication. Have not had a reply yet so I guess phone call is due.
