Cummins engine fault light “Stop Engine” code 556. Crankcase high pressure. help appr

I’ve got this fault code, sitting in a parking lot, trying to get how to move to the next step.

In my 2020 MA with. 500 hp engine:

1) Is the crankcase filter easy to replace?
2) the fault went off, can I drive it, no derating occurred
3) Closest Cummins location is 30 miles away.

It is quite easy to replace working thru a hatch over the engine, but, there is no way your 2019/20 engine should need one !

That is what I am thinking! I just drove 40 mi to the closest Cummins location to spend the night.

Spartan said they never even heard of this fault before from someone.

Let us know what they find.

I replaced my filter on my '07 engine a couple of years ago, and it really didn't need it. The filter media was only slightly darker than the fresh filter.

Solution so far: Cummins installed a crankcase pressure sensor since they had one. No techs to do analysis, but also didn’t expect any key cause due to only 21K miles on engine. 200 miles late we are doing fine without another fault.

Colombia SC Cummins was fast efficient and very affordable, especially with fixing in 1 jr while having a 2+week backlog.
