Dash air stopped working

After 6 plus years of working great our dash air on our 2017 Dutch Star 4369 stopped blowing cold air. The compressor still kicks in when the dash A/C is turned on suggesting it has enough freon to run. I'll check for leaks this morning but any other thing to check with these circumstance? Fuses, sensors or something else before moving to a vacuum test?

If the fan is running, the ducts are blowing and the compressor is on, then the AC is working. Could the heat be also on negating the effect of the cool air?

Odds are it needs freon though. Use a good gauge.

Its probably the dryer on the coolant loop- I had one go out at about 6 years of age on my Freightliner chassis. Naturally the dryer was 'Made in China' cheap piece of junk. I replaced with a dryer made in the USA & have had no issues since.

Is your coach on a Freightliner or Spartan chassis? Just take it to the respective shop for repair.

Happy Trails

All the refrigerant leaked out of my dash air after 3 years in our 2021 MA. Recharged it and works great again. Added a can of leak stop. The leak is very slow but if it leaks down again in less than a year I will find the leak. I did put dye in it to help find the leak when ready.

Most likely it’s low on refrigerant. Easy fix would be to add refrigerant and monitor air temperature. The right answer is to evacuate the system, see if it maintains the vacuum, and if so add the require amount of refrigerant.
