Dash Compass is Off 180 Degrees from the Direction I am Traveling

I have a 2018 Newmar Ventana with 17K on the odometer. Last week and about a thousand miles ago, the compass started reading the opposite direction from where the direction I am travelling. i.e., if I am going north, it shows south. I checked the manuals for reset procedures and I am either missing it or it is not covered.

Any ideas on a fix?

You have some way of correcting in your information folder some place, to reset you will need a large parking lot, early morning, so you can drive the coach around and around until its reset.
That all I can remember maybe some one will make it easier for you or call Newmar repair for help.

Thanks. Is there some button I push to start the calibration before driving in circles. Two Chevy trucks I previously owned had a button to push before driving in circles. My Jeep is self calibrating.

I believe with the engine off and in the start position you can access the display settings for the digital bar, diagnostics or support whatever it is in there and start a recalibration. You do two circles then tell it you're done. BUT before you do that I suggest knowing where your compass is as I had problems for the longest time. My compass in my 2017 is in the AV compartment hanging from the back wall about mid way down on the left, looks like a plastic shelf per se with a bunch of wires. Make sure you don't have anything near your compass, this alone may fix your issue. Once it's clear of interference items perform your recalibration.

A sudden 180 on a compass makes me think 'magnet'. Do as Neal suggested and check to make sure you haven't put anything new/different near the compass itself. Anything magnetic or electrical can make them go out of whack.

Thanks. I previously looked in the manual at the diagnostics tree and didn't find anything about the compass. I am going to give it another shot.

I am on my way to Alaska now so it figure it out, recalibration will have to wait until I get home. I thought there was another way recalibrate it.

Nothing newnew electronic or magnetic wise in the coach that hasn't been there for 16 months and 18000 miles.

Maybe when the compass reverses itself, you can just turn around and proceed backwards! Sorry...I just couldn't resist.

As matter of fact I was at Freightliner today, and the beauty of a programmable transmission is I now have six in reverse an one forward speed and it didn't cost a dime. The rear camera should make it easy to drive.

Ok, I checked the freightliner manual and the Ventana owners manual, nothing in their about compass. But I learned where the compass is located. Did also learn the little toggle switch has to be held to the right for 5 seconds to get the setup menu to come up, so now I can set my clock (but it's going to go off every time I turn off chassis/house switches) but I can practice doing it several times so I got it figured out. As recommended, well how far north are you, compasses go bonkers once you get up around mid Canada I think. Could not find one word on how to reset it, but I looked as it's something to know. Let us know when you figure it out.
