Dash light bar on 2015 Dutch Stars

Is the information on the dash light bar considered to be very accurate? My 450 HP 40' is showing MPG as 6.9-7.1 on the dash over my first 4 fill ups when actually it calculates miles divided by gallons at 5.7-6.5, which is very disappointing. My previous coach with only a 330 Cat always ran 7.0-8.5 and averaged 7.48 over 72,000 miles. I realize the 330 Cat was pushing about 10,000 lbs less but I was hoping the 450 wouldn't be such a fuel hog, even considering how sluggish the throttle is.

And mentioning the sluggish throttle response, it kind of reminds me of my 32' Fleetwood with a Chev 454 engine, or even the old VW Bugs, just give the throttle a big push and watch the speedometer gradually increase without any feel in the seat of your pants. Maybe I was just hoping for too much jumping from a 330 to a 450 since I'd always read wind drag had more effect than weight did.

Are you using the gen set at all ? Dash has no way of calculating the fuel used by the gen set.
Cummins break-in and better fuel economy , take about 15,000 plus miles, but if you feel it's down on power, report that to Cummins at your first service.

I find the light bar figures on gallons used and mpg to be about 10% off from actual. e.g. the gallons used is 10% low

Sounds about right. Guess Freightliner wants us all to feel good about the decent mileage it shows.
No, none of this mileage had the gen running nor the diesel Oasis heating unit.

If you want absolutely correct info. Install a Scan Gauge D. I did that on my 06 KSTAR and its dead on accurate. Not to mention all the other info it will give you.
