Dashcams anyone?

With some of the kamikaze drivers out there seems a dashcam may be of help at times. With their continuous loop recording could have a piece of mind. Has anyone tried one? Thank you.

Yes...use it all the time. Cobra 840. See it here although I bought mine at Costco for about $90.

Also, there was another post about dash cams that talks about them HERE

Hope it helps...

I bought one made by DOD. I added a bigger SD card and it will record about 8 hours before it records over the previous stuff. Mine films in HD, has good night vision, GPS and will save footage if it senses an impact. I bought an extra power cord and have the cords set up in the motor home and the toad. I run it all the time in my daily driver and switch it over to the RV on trips.

It takes nice enough footage that it's worth saving when you drive through areas like National Parks.

They are great to have as evidence, just in case......
I got mine from:
Truck driver video dash camera and windshield DVR cam with 720 HD recording from Dieselboss.

Been working great for three years now. Shoots in HD, with 32gb,
you would have a ton of video before it overwrites.

Switched over to a Garmin DezlCam. The unit is a "truck parameter" GPS (height, weight, length) and a dash Cam. The unit takes snap shots of the road or of the GPS screen and of course records video while driving. One of the unique features is the Garmin playback software. You can display a split screen with the dash video on the left and a moving map of the route on the right with a "locator dot" indicating where the currently displayed video was recorded. The unit can also "grab" snapshots off of the video as it's played.
