Decorative ceiling lights

Good morning all. Traveling now and have a small dilemma. On our 2005 Kountry Star, I had one of the small ceiling lights go out. I was able to gently pry off the cover and replaced the halogen bulb and it works fine. My problem is I can't get the cover back on these are the little covers about two or three inches across, and in a house would be like a recessed fixture. I did not see any parts fall out when I removed the cover. Anybody know the secret to getting it back on? I can post pictures of it later if needed. The cover says it's made by Pai Ying. Eventually will change out to led lights but want to finish the trip without that hot cover falling on DW while she is at the sink

You twist those covers on like you twist them off. No prying. I wonder how I know.

On a side note, I would give serious consideration to replacing those halogen bulbs with a led equivalent. To much heat is generated from the halogens for me. We had several lights/halogen bulbs mounted on the underside of the cabinets that went from the dining table to over the sofa. Replaced with different surface mounted lights/led bulbs.

If you pried it off you probably broke it. You could try using a small piece of velcro to hold it. Even when you change to leds it has the same cover.

Thanks

Yes I probably broke it. I just unscrewed the cover of the one next to it and re-installed it easily but the original one won't screw on. I had planned to start changing those to LEDs and guess now will start that project a little sooner
Will be home in 2 or 3 weeks and starting a list of things to work on. Hopefully they will all be minor stuff like this

Take one off that is under a cabinet for now and use it. At least you won't see it until you get home.

My Monaco had the halogen lights, probably similar to yours. When you open them up, hey have a large metal heat sink for the halogen bulb. The heat sink was removable and opened up more space for different type LED bulbs I used the flat ones that look like a "quarter" with the two pin connection.

Use a little Goop or other clear caulk on the inside edge of the cover and stick it back up there. Use sparingly as you don't want it to ooze out around the edge.
Worked for me.
I now have all LED lights.
