Detroit Axle Sway Bar Mounting Recall

Just got this notice in the mail today and it says that the problem, "exists on specific Freightliner Custom Chassis motorhome chassis manufactured March 10, 2015, through January 14, 2016, with certain Detroit Axles."

Not any other identifying information, but just to contact an authorized Detroit Axle repair facility and that it will take approximately 4.6 hours to fix.

Seems like a lot of recalls coming out lately!

Your're right Called Freightliner in Jacksonville on Saturday and they said that they can't get the parts yet, but will try to find out how long before I can bring it in.

We purchached a new motor home the end of July and the only way I found out there was a recall on the sway bar was on a group I belong to. Was just leaving on a trip now Freightliner has no idea what parts they need to repair. Was told not to drive it.

I'm not sure why Freightliner wouldn't know what parts they need because they have it listed as a recall campaign in their computer system. Call Detroit Axle or Freightliner customer service and they should get it straight based on your serial number. It is really a Detroit Axle campaign but Freightliner is an authorized dealer.

Good Luck

Thank you, talked to Freightliner yesterday and they know what is needed. I am also wondering do you know when the recall came out?

I received the letter in the above post in June. I don't remember the specific date.
