Hi! It appears that Diamond Shield will not be the vendor for Newmar,(plastic nose protection) for 2009 Models. Digishield, ( www.digishield.com)(800.452.7311)has taken over supplying the front end protection. They have been in business for many years, doing cars, motorcycles, and other brand Motorhomes. They supplied product for some of the 08 Gas Models. I called the company and was told that their adhesive is not as strong as other brands, and will be easy to replace if need be. To clean it, they said wash it the same way you do the rest of the motorhome. I was told that to protect it, to use any spray wax, so that the pores stay closed. You can also use paste wax, but they said you would probably need a toothbrush for the edges, to remove the wax. They said if you want to remove stubborn spots, (bugs, etc) use Son of a Gun. They said it was a STP product available at Walmart. They also said if you get a orange mark from Love Bugs you can usually get it to go away by dabbing the spot with alcohol. It should take about 3 days for it to work. I forgot to ask about warranty. Paul

Very interesting. I hope their shield stuff works better than their website. It appears at my end to be non-existant

I says the site is still under construction. Certainly does not mean the product is no good.

John, Check the address. That is not the same site or e-mail, it just happens to be the closest site name to it.

Digicut Systems (HQ=Tulsa OK, also in Fort Wayne) has a family of digitally cut plastic film products like window tinting (DigiTint) and paint protection film (DigiShield).
The web site www.digishield.com (which redirects to www.digicutsystems.com) is correct, they just don't have anything there yet.
Digicut (like Diamond Shield) just cuts and applies these film products and "brands" them. The actual plastic film they use is made by a major plastic producer (like a 3m, DuPont, GE-Plastics, etc - we'll never know who because of trade secrets) and Digicut and Diamond Shield just brand it (they might also put the glue on) and warrant it themselves.
Diamond Shield had just about locked down the RV industry, hence that's why we hear of them in this space the most.

I have talked to Jim Rodgers at Digishield in Tulsa several times during this past week.
I ordered my new Kountry Aire 5th wheel in January thinking that I would have Diamond Shield on it, but got Digishield instead. It is on the lower front sections of the trailer.
I want to have protectant film on the upper front end cap of my Kountry Aire as well, so I got a quote from both Diamond Shield and Digishield to do it. Diamond Shield was almost $1,300 (installed on site at the dealership in Bath, NY where I bought my unit) and Digishield was a bit under $600, installed at their site in Elkhart, IN.
I'm driving through Elkhart this week, so I'm getting the Digishield installed there on Friday.
Jim Rodgers said Digishield uses computer cut patterns for most Newmar applications (not the top of my Kountry Aire though, which will be individually cut and fit) so if you need to replace a section of Digishield in the future you'll get a more precise fit. He said their adhesive makes it easier to remove after time than Diamond Shield's does also. Both offer comparable protection he said.
John

I hope that Digishield can be removed easier than Diamond shield. They had to replace Diamond Shield two different times for us and both times took off the paint.
Will find out in a couple of days how they made out this time when we pick up MH.

Revisiting this change, I believe it is a cost cut mainly. There were no major issues with Diamondshield that I'm aware of. Though half the price, we still don't know the life of this product, but I guess time will tell.

Hi Peter! When I spoke with this company months ago (see my first post) they stated they have been in the market for a very long time. Newmar instead of cost cutting might have seen a better product?? Like with the change from Hydro Hot to Oasis?? Paul
